My old scale was dying, so I replaced it with this. The top is stainless (the only piece that needs to be) is quite large and very, VERY stable. It's very easy to use, and includes a plastic food splash guard thing to protect the buttons and screen, which is a really nice feature. Fairly precise (0.05 oz resolution) and in my opinion, indespensible to anyone that needs to measure when cooking or eating - be it a dieter, bodybuilder, or baker.

I make my own soap and the scale measures the ingredients to perfection!! It's small, but easy to use and the guard over the keyboard protects it from any splashes, which I hope never occur!! Easy to read, too, and the large flat weighing surface accommodates my various containers for the soap process. Price was reasonable, too!

What a great scale! When it boots up, whatever is on the platform is zeroed out, so you can start with a container and not have to hit the zeroing function. And if you add one oil after another, such as when you are making soap out of a number of liquid oils, you can re-zero after each addition. That is really helpful. I found the plastic cover over the control panel to be a nice addition to the scale, as it keeps splashed items off the electronics.

I personally never have any trouble with the cover interfering with the platform, as some folks have claimed, but I always raise the cover just enough to hit the right key, then let it drop back down again. The quality of this scale is obvious when you get it. You can weigh in pounds, ounces, grams, or kilograms, and easily change from one to another. I'm very happy with my unit. Thumbs up!
